Call for Papers: "Climate 2.0: Usable Science for Society" at AGU (USA)
We would like to invite your contribution to a session proposed for the Fall Meeting of AGU, 3-7 December, 2012 in San Francisco. The session is GC008 “Climate 2.0: Usable Science for Society”.
We would like to invite your contribution to a session proposed for the
Fall Meeting of AGU, 3-7 December, 2012 in San Francisco. The session is
GC008 “Climate 2.0: Usable Science for Society”. The paragraph below
describes the focus of the session:
Climate 2.0: Usable Science for Society
Climate change science is rapidly transitioning from Climate 1.0,
classic climate modeling showing that anthropogenic warming is
occurring, to Climate 2.0 where the primary question is "How do we adapt
to this change and its impact on the coupled human & natural system?"
This session explores the models, scenarios, data systems and research
that will allow a much larger and more diverse community to tackle
societally relevant questions. Topics include: Process and
phenomena-based metrics of performance at the global, regional and local
scales, theoretical & empirical evaluation of the performance of
downscaling methods under non-stationary conditions, and confidence in
ensembles of climate projections and probabilistic projections at
regional scales.

The abstracts are due for submission by 8 August, 2012.
