B64: Climate and the Nitrogen Cycle
Human alterations of the global cycle of reactive nitrogen (Nr) impact the earth climate system at multiple points: not only through N2O production, but through formation of aerosols and O3, consumption of atmospheric CH4, and through direct and indirect effects on global C balance. These responses are studied by disparate scientific communities and require integration for the next generation of earth system models. This session will highlight interactions among Nr, aerosols, and greenhouse gases in regulating global climate, and will illustrate field- and modeling approaches to Nr-climate system connections at both local and global scales. Abstracts for presentations on both measurements and model analyses of Nr-climate interactions are welcomed.
