Call for Papers: Drought and Food Security (H94) at AGU (USA)

The Fall AGU meeting is coming closer (Dec. 13-17) with the deadline of abstract submission ( 2nd September). We would like to encourage you to submit your abstracts to session AGU (H94): Drought and Food Security: which raises many challenges and opportunities for hydrologists and climate scientists for today and in coming future.

Dear colleagues,
The Fall AGU meeting is coming closer (Dec. 13-17) with the deadline of abstract submission ( 2nd September). We would like to encourage you to submit your abstracts to session AGU (H94): Drought  and Food Security: which raises many challenges and opportunities for hydrologists and climate scientists for today and in coming future.

Invited Speakers: Chris Funk, Bill Easterling, Cody Knutson, and Justin Mcgrath

This session will seek presentations on all aspects of droughts with a focus on agriculture and food security. Examples of topics include;triggers for assessing the onset and demise of droughts, methods and techniques for characterizing droughts, the impacts of different drought types with emphasis on food security, and the adaptive
and mitigative approaches aimed at developing resilience for reducing the vulnerability due to droughts regionally and globally. Session presentations are anticipated to help develop perspectives from local, regional and global studies that offer insights about the  experiences, challenges, and opportunities to work proactively in the direction of drought monitoring, modeling, impact assessments, and mitigation adaption approaches.
