IN039: " Quality Assessment of Satellite-Derived Land Surface Variables".
Session description Satellite-derived land surface products are crucial
for regional to global climate and ecological monitoring. However, it is
still unclear as to how these global products comply with accuracy
requirements such as those defined for the GCOS' Essential Climate
Variables. This session invites contributions presenting methodological
advances and results of inter-comparison of satellite products and
validation with in situ observations. The session will provide an update
on the quality status of the products including, land cover, LAI, soil
moisture, snow, and albedo. The main goal is to foster the discussion
with users and in situ network scientists for advancing the quality
assessment of satellite-derived land surface products.
