Introduction
There is often limited knowledge and understanding of climate change
adaptation concepts and its implications at local level. Climate change is a
rather new phenomenon with potential risks but limited reaction of policy
makers. The capacities for adaptive planning, informed policy development and
climate proof programming are often weak. This course on climate change
adaptation in agriculture and natural resource management will help you to
understand climate change adaptation concepts, be able to effectively and
meaningfully contribute to the debate on climate change adaptation, either in
the policy process and/or in providing knowledge to the policy process and
apply the concepts of climate change adaptation within the context of
sustainable development.
