Dr Surender Singh, researcher at Dept of AgroMeteorology CCS Haryana Agril University, have been honoured with Best Paper Award at 5th National Seminar on Agrometeorology.

1. Dr Surender Singh, researcher at Dept of AgroMeteorology CCS Haryana Agril University, have been honoured with Best Paper Award at 5th National Seminar on Agrometeorology held at Bidhan Chander Krishi Vishwavidyalya (BCKV), Kalyani (Paschimbanga), India during 9-10 December, 2011. The best paper award was given by Indian Association of Agrometeorologists for their outstanding research paper entitled ‘ Seedling establishment of chickpea cultivars in varying sowing environments under field conditions’ published in Journal of Agrometeorology having quite high NAAS rating (6.4/10.0) in the country. In the published paper, the research results suggest the significance of soil micrometeorological conditions before chickpea seeds emergence and subsequent survival and establishment of seedlings.

2.  Dr Surender Singh , of Dept of AgroMeteorology CCS Haryana Agril University, received best oral presentation award for his work on ‘Real time agrometeorological information for contingent measures in attaining sustainable crop production’ during 5th India’s National Seminar on Agrometeorology held at Bidhan Chander Krishi Vishwavidyalya (BCKV), Kalyani (Paschimbanga), India during 9-10 December, 2011.
