The Risk Centre (Collaborative Centre of Excellence in Understanding and Managing Natural and Environmental Risks) is a newly-funded strategic partnership between the UK Research Councils and the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Based at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire, UK, and working collaboratively across the remit of its funders, the Risk Centre provides a world-leading evidence base for risk-informed policy development within Defra and other Government departments. Suitable candidates from academia, consultancy or industry are sought for a postdoctoral position on Adapting to Climate Change. You will have a demonstrable track record in delivery, and possess a PhD, publication track record, and the potential to develop innovative policy support for Government. With knowledge about climate change and the surrounding issues, you will undertake research and provide expert insight in the area of Adapting to Climate Change Reporting. You will work closely with colleagues within Defra, and will spend time with the team in London. The role will draw upon the wide range of expertise available within the Risk Centre and you will be expected to also develop your own funding streams to support future work programmes.
This high profile post will deliver and disseminate influential policy-relevant research for Defra.
