The Agricultural Meteorology Division of IMD renders various weather related services to the farming community of the country. Among other operational services to the users, weather based Agromet Advisory Services, in the form of a bulletin (in English as well as local languages) are prepared and issued from 21 AAS centers of IMD located in the different State Capitals of the country. These weather based advisories are broadcast through All India Radio, telecasted through Doordarshan Kendra and also displayed in the website of the Department (http://imdagrimet.gov.in/).

In addition to that, Summaries of these All India Agromet Advisory Services Bulletins, based on past and forecast weather and state and stage of crops, are prepared in this Division. These bulletins are sent to the Secretary of Agriculture and Economic and Statistical Adviser, Ministry of Agriculture, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi every week to appraise of the current weather advisories on the standing crops in the country and also help Ministry of Agriculture to exploit the climatic/weather resources in agricultural planning to minimize damages due to hazardous weather elements.
