Abstract - A study was carried out for the development of climatic calendar for Hisar, Bawal, Karnal, Ambala and Chandigarh representing the different agroclimatic zones of Haryana. Transpiration rates (potential and actual estimated) were computed using leaf area index, PET and soil moisture storage in root zone. The Thornthwaite concept of development unit was used on the transpiration rate to develop the crop calendars for each location for irrigated and rainfed conditions separately.
